Further roof styles and the main product category are added to the title.

You can customize the Roof, Doors, Walls, colors, Panels,, Anchors, Certifications and Sizes of the building. Yes, you must ensure that the installation site (where you want to put up the building) is flat and leveled in order to complete the installation in given timeframe. Some areas require building permits before installing a metal carport or any other metal building. Please get in touch with your local community authorities to find out if permits are required in your area too.
Permit is an official permission before installing a metal building in your area which is provided by the authorized legistaltion of your county. This is important to check before you install any building on your property. Please check with you nearest legislation if your county needs to give you a permit. Majority of areas do not require building permits, but it is in the benefit of customers to purchase a certified building for long term performance.
Looking at various factors such as heavy snow fall or high winds in certain areas, their local authorities decide the permit validations. If you are living in an area where carport or any building permits are necessary, they require quality standard certifications of metal buildings you are going to install. These types of buildings can be referred as Certified Metal Buildings which are designed by engineers and have specific ratings for snow load and wind. Certified Buildings include a tighter screw pattern, additional appropriate anchors depending on surface types. Please note there is no additional warranty on certified buildings. A certified building simply means the building is built to specifications and certified by a professional engineer to meet local building requirements
Gauge is standard measuring unit which defines thickness of a metal sheet or steel sheet. Every carport or metal structure company use it as a standard term to define the quality of the metal sheets. We have frames available in either 12-gauge or 14-gauge galvanized steel.
Gauge represents the thickness of metal sheet, its values are presented in inverse i.e. The lower the Gauge, the stronger metal sheet. 12-gauge metal sheet have thickness 0.1084 inches whereas a 14-gauge metal sheet is 0.0785 inches thick. Which is why we recommend using 12-Gauge metal sheet for areas prone to high winds and heavy snow. Whereas, 14-Gauge metal sheet is the industry standard for frame thickness and accepted everywhere for building metal carports and other steel structures. Both Gauges are safe to use in your building structures including metal carports, steel barns, metal workshops, steel garages, custom metal buildings, RV Covers and other utility carports that we offer. Gauge of Frame – Tubular Steel Frame: 1. 14 gauge – 2 ½” x 2 ½” steel tubing 2. 12 gauge – 2 ¼” x 2 ¼” steel tubing – Heavier and stronger than the 14 gauge – 20 year limited warranty on rust through of frame assuming normal user care/maintenance.
We provide 20-year limited warranty on rust through of frame assuming normal user care/maintenance on 12-Gauge steel frames. For more information, you can contact our specialists +1-877-801-3263 here.
